HCMC hosts ACM Int’l Collegiate Programming Contest

The 23rd Vietnam Informatics Olympic Contest for Students (OLP’14) and the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM/ICPC) in Asian region opened in Ho Chi Minh City on October 29.

The OLP’14 draws the participation of 400 Vietnamese students. It aims to honour talents and encourage researches and creativeness in the field of information technology-communication among Vietnamese students.

The ACM/ICPC in Asian region attracts 107 Vietnamese teams and 316 students. The best ten teams will fly to Thailand to attend the next qualifying round of ACM/ICPC in Asian region from November 13-15.

The ACM/ICPC 2015 World Finals will be held in Marrakesh (Morocco) next year. 

The OCP’14 and ACM/ICPC held in Ho Chi Minh City are co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Computer Association, the Vietnam Students Association and Ho Chi Minh University of Industry.

The contests will last through to October 31.
