The Hanoi Department of Transportation is making it easier for visitors to explore the historic Bat Trang pottery village. With more bus routes, Bat Trang is now more accessible than ever. The move is expected to boost tourism to the village, renowned for its centuries-old tradition of exquisite ceramic craftsmanship.

The new bus network plan recently approved by the Hanoi People's Committee, with 136 intra-provincial and 18 inter-provincial bus routes, includes a new city tour bus route, CITR 04, which will run from Hoan Kiem Lake to Bat Trang Pottery Village.

The CITR 04 route will operate from Monday to Friday, starting from Hoan Kiem Lake (Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square) and ending at the Bat Trang Pottery Museum. On Saturdays and Sundays, the route will depart from the Dien Hong Flower Garden.

The Hanoi Department of Transport will work with relevant agencies to publicize bus routes, stops, and passenger pick-up and drop-off points.

In addition to the new route, the plan also calls for adjustments to existing routes to improve efficiency and better meet passenger needs. This includes the discontinuation of five subsidized bus routes (10A, 10B, 14, 18, and 145) that were deemed to be underperforming.

The new bus network is expected to begin operating in 2024 and is part of the city's efforts to improve public transportation and reduce traffic congestion.

Located just 12 kilometers from downtown Hanoi, Bat Trang boasts a rich cultural heritage intertwined with the ancient city of Thang Long (now Hanoi). Visitors can immerse themselves in the village's history through traditional pottery-making demonstrations, explore ancient houses and lineage halls, and experience the unique local festivals, customs, and cuisine. Beyond the captivating world of ceramics, Bat Trang offers a glimpse into a bygone era, making it a captivating destination for those seeking a cultural immersion alongside beautiful handcrafted souvenirs.
