As many as 70 pavilions will showcase their products at the festival which is managed by many famous brands from South Korea, including Binggrae, Nongshim, Miwon, Chonggak house, Chungjungwon, Samyang food, and Dongwon, among others.
In addition, several pavilions will be preserved to introduce visitors to South Korea’s traditional 'Kimchi' food and traditional 'Hanbok' costumes, in addition to typical farm produce from South Korea's localities.
At this year's event, visitors will also have an opportunity to attend an EDM party on October 27, with performances by Vietnamese artist Soobin Hoang Son, and meet with several of South Korea’s most famous artists, including Haha and Lee Kwang Soo, on October 28.
Hanoians will be entertained with more cultural activities on October 29, the last day of the festival, including a performance by Kim Dong Kyu - the well-known South Korea male voice, and movie shows at the Lotte Cinema.
In particular, a South Korea - Vietnam Master Chef competition and a South Korea - Vietnam's got talent show will be held at the festival which is expected to attract the participation of a large number of participants.
This year festival is jointly organised by South Korea Embassy in Vietnam, the Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, among others, with the aim of strengthening the bilateral relations between Vietnam and South Korea across various areas.
Started in 2008, this festival is held annually with the aim to enhance the close relationship between the two countries as well as introducing Korean culture to Vietnamese people.
In 2015, the festival was held at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea. Besides to enjoy the food, Hanoians had lots of fun experiencing Korean traditional games, including Tuho (throwing a stick into a box), Jegichagi (kicking a shuttlecock-like object), and Yutnori (traditional board game). Some of the games are similar to Vietnamese ones and it is such a great thing for people to understand more about both countries’ traditions, loving and enjoying the games. Traditional Korean dancing and traditional Vietnamese music were also introduced at the festival.
The 7th Korea – Vietnam Food & Culture Festival 2015 was estimated to have welcomed more than 10,000 people.
