Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) has drawn up a detailed plan to ensure sufficient power supply for residents this Summer, said Nguyen Hoang Duong, deputy director of EVNHANOI's Hanoi Power Load Dispatch Center.
The company has made efforts to speed up the progress of key power projects such as 220/110 kV power lines in western Hanoi to Thanh Xuan District and 220/110 kV power lines connecting Soc Son, Van Dinh, Duong Noi, and Minh Khai power stations in outlying districts, Duong added.

"Electricity companies have analyzed and evaluated load data by area, developed scenarios and solutions for power supply in 2023, taking into account the most complicated incidents in the network so that they can respond promptly and appropriately," the deputy director emphasized.
The construction of medium and low-voltage power stations has so far been completed. Meanwhile, the relevant units are accelerating the undergrounding of medium- and low-voltage electrical cables on 45 streets. In addition, repairs to electrical equipment have been carried out in accordance with the established plan.
"New substations with modern technology and remote control have been installed. Power companies have replaced some old lines and increased the power system's capacity, helping to ensure a safe and stable supply in the Summer," Dung said.
EVNHANOI is trying to accelerate the progress of the medium-voltage grid automation system to closely monitor the grid situation and promptly deal with a full load and overload of lines and substations," he added.
However, he also pointed out that land clearance and compensation have prevented many power construction projects from being completed on time.
Despite the electricity sector's efforts, high electricity consumption in the Summer will lead to the overloading of the grid. Therefore, residents should join hands to conserve electricity by switching off unnecessary electrical appliances during peak hours and setting air conditioners at 26 degrees Celsius and above, the deputy director said.
