Hanoi tops Vietnam IT Industry Index 2018
The Vietnam IT Industry Index is based on the statistics of IT manufacturing, IT services and IT business in provinces and cities, helping determine the level of competition and the results of IT industrial development and services in the localities.
In the report of Vietnam IT Industry Index 2018, Hanoi continues to lead the country in IT industry with 0.5098 points.
This is the second time the IT Department under the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) develops and publishes the results of the Vietnam IT Industry Index.
With scores of 0.5098 and 0.5079 points, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City continue to rank No.1 and 2 on IT industry development.
The decline in IT production index has made Bac Ninh province lose the third position to Thai Nguyen province and fall to the fourth rank this year. Da Nang and Can Tho have dropped compared to last year’s rankings, the report said.
The Vietnam IT Industry Index’s report was extracted for the first time in 2016 from the Vietnam ICT Index, which measures ICT readiness and development and released by the MIC.
Deputy Director of IT Department (MIC) Nguyen Thanh Tuyen said that Vietnam IT Industry Index’s report aims to give a overall and detailed picture on Vietnam’s IT development, which is one of the biggest growth in Vietnam’s economy over the years.
Besides, this assessment will also help the Vietnamese government, ministries and localities to determine the level of competition and the results of industry development and IT services in the region as well as the fields of IT operations, such as IT industry, IT services or trading and distributing IT products and services, Tuyen said.
