With its businesses among the top 200 blockchain companies in the world, Vietnam has made it to the group of five leading countries in blockchain technology. The index of acceptance of this new technology in Vietnam is five times higher than in the US. With the best growth potential in the region, Global Blockchain Congress chose Vietnam as the next destination to fire the first shot in Asia due to its potential market for Blockchain technology development, according to the organizers.
The Global Blockchain Conference was held nine times in Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), attracting more than 650 investors and more than 200 startups.
“We are very impressed by the achievements in digital transformation and development of digital technology in Vietnam, and confident in the breakthrough strategies and visions of the Vietnamese Government on digital transformation with a focus on promoting open policy and encouraging the development of new technologies,” said Hadi Malaeb, Co-founder and CEO of Agora Group.
He underlined Vietnam has a lot of room for the development of blockchain.
In Vietnam, the number and total value of blockchain startups increased sharply in 2021.
According to Vu Kiem Van, the VDCA’s Vice Chairman, there are currently about 200 companies doing business in the blockchain field, of which seven are established by Vietnamese people. Ten Vietnamese startup projects related to blockchain also called for investment capital of more than $100 million.
Tony Tran, CEO of V2B Labs, one of the organizers of the 10th Global Blockchain Conference, hoped the event will be an opportunity for potential blockchain projects to share, connect and seek capital from the largest and most quality investment funds, thereby making the Vietnamese blockchain market more exciting, contributing to the construction and development of the digital economy in Vietnam.
As predicted, in 2022, the number of Southeast Asia-focused venture capital funds will put more effort into early-stage investments in Vietnam.
