Many communities hold festivals to ensure that their traditional identity is preserved with thoughtful preparation.

Hanoi boasts the largest number of festivals in the country, with more than 1,500 festivals to be held in 2024.

Many new features in the organization

Some major festivals attract a large number of visitors, such as the Huong Pagoda Festival (My Duc District), Giong Festival at Soc Temple (Soc Son District), Giong Festival at Phu Dong Temple (Gia Lam District), Co Loa Festival (Dong Anh District), and Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival (Me Linh District).

Dang Thi Mai, Head of Dong Da District's Department of Culture and Information, said the organizing committee will provide free parking during the Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da Victory Festival from February 14 to 16.

The festival is held at Dong Da Cultural Park on the fifth day of the first lunar month to commemorate the victory over Chinese invaders.

After solemn rituals on February 14, the organizing committee will hold an art performance and folk games on the following two days.

Hai Ba Trung (Trung Sisters) Temple Festival commemorating the uprising of the Trung Sisters (40-43 AD) on February 13-17 this year will also see many novelties.

In addition to the traditional rituals held annually, the organizing committee will arrange an art performance using modern technology called Am Vang Me Linh (Me Linh Reverberation).

This semi-realistic art show combines modern 3D mapping technology, retelling the historical story in a modern way, with sequential chapters and scenes, subtle transitions between episodes using lighting techniques, attractive music and various forms of expression such as singing, circus, dancing, and drumming performances.

Safety comes first

With 98 festivals in the area, 83 of which are held in spring, Dong Anh District has many festivals in Hanoi.

To ensure a civilized and safe festival season, Vice Chairman of Dong Anh District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Tam said that the district government has intensified inspections in each area and is committed to managing and organizing festivals following regulations.

Organizing committees will tighten control over parking activities to ensure safety and order for festival-goers. It is strictly forbidden to raise product prices and sell fake goods and superstitious publications at the festival.
