The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 will be held in Hanoi on December 19-22, with nearly 200 companies from 27 countries, including the US, Russia, the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, and others.
The event will showcase combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, and equipment for the navy, army, air defense force, cyber warfare, logistics, and technical support. Vietnam will also display products developed by its Ministry of National Defense agencies and affiliated commercial enterprises.
On November 27, Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the Steering Committee of Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024, inspected preparations for the exhibition at Gia Lam Airport in Hanoi.

"This is an important political event for the army and the country on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day," Chien stressed.
The opening ceremony, which will last about an hour, is expected to involve approximately 2,150 officers and soldiers.
The expo aims to enhance international defense cooperation, strengthen defense external affairs, and build trust between Vietnam and other nations. It provides a platform to share defense policies and strategies, promote the defense industry, and create opportunities for participating countries and enterprises to exhibit products, explore partnerships, and expand collaboration.
This year's exhibition will focus on boosting cooperation in defense industry technologies, diversifying technology transfer channels, and exploring global weapons and technical equipment trends. It will showcase Vietnam's defense industry capabilities, including opportunities to export Made in Vietnam armaments.
It will also feature a "Vietnam Cultural Space" and an area dedicated to "Achievements in Building the People's Armed Forces and All-People's National Defense," highlighting the 80-year history and development of the Vietnam People's Army. Visitors can explore military industry products and digital transformation initiatives developed by the army.
The Expo has already received formal registrations from 42 international delegations. Indoor exhibition space will double to 15,000 square meters, while outdoor exhibition space will expand to more than 20,000 square meters, nearly four times the size of the 2022 edition.
The Expo will be open to the public free of charge through December 22.
