Hanoi to build a new biotech high-tech park
The HaBiotech is designed to engage in high-tech activities that align with global trends and Vietnam's strategic policies for high-tech development, with a particular focus on biotechnology.
The capital city is set to unveil the Hanoi Biotech High-Tech Park (HaBiotech), a project covering 199 hectares in Bac Tu Liem District, as detailed in a recent governmental decision signed by Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son.

An overview of the project. |
The Deputy Prime Minister has instructed the Hanoi People's Committee to work in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology to develop operational regulations for the zone, which will be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval.
Hanoi is set to begin planning, assessing, and approving the construction layout and boundaries for the park to ensure consistency with the designated location and area. A management body under the Hanoi People's Committee will be set up to operate the park effectively.
The HaBiotech project received planning approval in February 2009 and has a projected total investment of over $1 billion. This includes $250 million allocated for technical infrastructure and service facilities, such as high-rise apartments and dormitories (excluding land for family housing). The remaining will be dedicated to specialized equipment for laboratories, centers, research institutes, and universities.
