The unique cultural features of the thousand-year-old Thang Long-Hanoi will be on view for the entertainment of locals and visitors to the country's southern economic hub.

A festival entitled "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the capital's liberation (October 10, 1954-2024) will get underway on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1 from August 23-25.

This is part of the Ho Chi Minh City government's efforts to strengthen the affectionate bond between the people of Vietnam's two largest cities.

The three-day program aims to draw attention to the distinctive cultural and historical features of Hanoi, a thousand-year-old city, and promote its designation as a City for Peace and a Creative City.

Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" will feature a series of activities, including photo exhibitions, replica displays of Hanoi's key historical sites such as Long Bien Bridge, Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan Market, and others.

There will also be a number of stalls showcasing Hanoi specialties such as Lotus Tea from the West Lake, traditional Hanoi moon cakes, and young rice cakes from Hang Than Street, among others.
