Hanoi strives to become a friendly and attractive destination

In 2016, Hanoi targets to welcome nearly 21.2 million tourists, an increase of 6.95% compared to 2015. This target is set by Hanoi People`s Committee in the plan to implement its tourism development this year. Hanoi plans to receive nearly 21.2 million tourists in 2016, up 6.95% againt last year.
The figure includes over 3.7 million foreign visitors and 17.4 million domestic tourists. The city's total revenue from tourism is expected to gain more than 60,000 billion VND, up 8.11% compared with 2015.
To perform the targets, Hanoi will create favourable conditions to attract more tourists by strengthening of cooperation with other localities across the country and stepping up tourism promotions.
The city will collaborate with embassies and international organizations to connect, promote and cooperate tourism development in the international markets and vice versa.

The municipal tourism sector will expand the potential markets in the region and the world, and enhance the communication, cooperation, promotion and link at home and abroad with a focus on key markets such as France, the UK, Germany, the US, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Indonesia.
The sector will invite associations and enterprises joining hands in developing Hanoi's tourism to become a friendly, hospitable, attractive and qualified destination.
The sector will attend the 15th annual meeting of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA) and the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities (TPO), while promoting bilateral cooperation programmes with CPTA member cities and organising travel fairs in foreign countries. 
The city's tourism will boost the cooperation in domestic tourism promotions and organize annual tourism events such as: "Memories of Hanoi" programme, traditional craft villages tourism festival in Hanoi; the welcoming of the first international tourist to Hanoi and International Tourism Fair in Vietnam (VITM).
Hanoi pledges to ensure its tourism activities feasible and effective for the aim of building a "safe, friendly, qualified and attractive" destination.
In 2015, Hanoi received nearly 3.3 million international tourist, up 8% compared with 2014, the number of domestic tourists reached 16.4 million passengers, an increase of 6% and municipal tourism revenue gained 50 trillion VND, an increase of 10% againt last year.
