Hanoi proposes six fields of cooperation with Fukuoka Prefecture

On November 21 morning, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a meeting with delegation of Fukuoka Prefecture (Japan), that has been visiting and working in Hanoi.
The delegation is being led by Mr. Masayuki Nakao Fukuoka Prefecture, Chairman of the Povincial Council, within the framework of implementation of the cooperation agreement between the province and the city.

At the meeting, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has informed on the achievements and goals, the prioritized development of Hanoi in the coming time. Specifically, in recent years, the city has prepared the public investment program for the period of 2016 - 2020. In particular, the priority of sustainable development, city planning targets for water systems, waste treatment, cleaning lakes around Hanoi and planting 1 million trees, improving the environmental landscape. Besides, Hanoi also advocates reform of administrative procedures, enabling the foreign investors and domestic businesses.

The City's Chairman highly appreciated the serious relationship between Hanoi - Vietnam and Fukuoka - Japan, that is increasingly expanding operations through cultural exchange and cooperation for development. The project of Japanese investment in Hanoi for the past time has been progressed strongly and effectively, has built credibility with the people and the country's Capital, including outstanding projects such as wastewater treatment plant of Yen Xa and Support Center for cancer patients in Hanoi.

During the visit of the delegation, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has proposed six fields in which the two provinces and cities have great potential for cooperation. They are: First, attracting small and medium enterprises owned by Japanese high-tech investment in the capital in many fields; Second, cooperating air pollution treatment, ponds, waste; Third, facilitating two-way tourism development; Forth, strengthening the criteria proposed for trainees from Vietnam to Japan; Fifth, cooperating in the field of aquaculture; Sixth, desiring that Fukuoka Prefecture in particular and Japan in general to transfer positive technology in the field of design, urban green landscape with Hanoi.

Also at the meeting, Chairman of Fukuoka Prefecture has reviewed the important milestones in the evolution of Hanoi - Fukuoka relations, while emphasizing that the bilateral cooperation program was a success, efficient result, more and more advanced in quality and quantity. About six fields of proposed cooperation of Hanoi Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung, Mr. Masayuki Nakao said he would review and make a bridge with the investors, the authorities concerned to seek cooperation opportunities with Hanoi.

"We expect and trust the relationship between the two sides will continue to remain good status, open more opportunities for cooperation and development", Chairman of Fukuoka Prefecture stressed.

* The same day, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan had a meeting with delegation of Fukuoka Prefecture. The two sides expressed their pleasure at the achievements of cooperation and insisted that they will continue to facilitate the exchanges, high-level exchange of visits, extensive cooperation towards more efficient.
