The voters expressed opinion to the National Assembly deputies, focusing on policies to encourage startup, building of cultural environment, housing for students, intellectual property protection, amendment of the Youth Law and the Capital Law, new points of national high school examination, and protection of children from abuse. The young people also voiced their concern over difficulties with capitals and environment when starting business, and expected for policies to attract more people for vocational training.

Most of startups, in particular information technology businesses, are facing difficulties with credit capitals and high prices of imported machines and equipments, said Tran Xuan Chien, a member of Association of Ha Noi Young Entrepreneurs. Therefore, they hoped that Ha Noi will have a guarantee fund for information technology enterprises.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung confirmed that startup development is the key task of Hanoi, especially in the field of information technology. The city currently has a support center for information technology startups, and aims to found another one by the end of March 2017; they will help startup companies to develop and turn their ideas into reality. By the end of 2016, Hanoi spent VND 1,400 billion on supporting production and business through the social policy banking system. In 2017, the city aims to allocate around VND 2 trillion, hence helping businesses to access the funds easily.

He also recommended that startups dealing with new materials should focus on market demand when researching and developing products. Hanoi will link enterprises with feasible ideas, thus helping them to turn the ideas into reality.

So far, Hanoi is one of the country’s leading localities in housing development for students; however, it does not satisfy requirement yet. Therefore, the city will pay more attention to building parks, flower gardens and public recreational places in the tenure of 2016 to 2020, Nguyen Duc Chung confirmed

Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai acknowledged feedback of the young voters, and called on them to increase effort for startup. Along with current preferential policies and incentives to support enterprises, he urged Hanoi authorities to encourage youth startup by offering policies, creating favorable conditions and further building open data warehouse. The National Assembly deputies of Hanoi were requested to receive and convey the youth’s opinions to the National Assembly, and supervise implementation of National Startup Program.

He also emphasized the hope that all students living and studying in Hanoi will join hands to build a civilized and modern city, firstly to comply with Code of Conduct in public places and popularize it in the community.
