Hanoi: Meetings and business dialogue

"Meetings and business dialogue" has been held on November 28, at the Melia Hotel, Hanoi in order to promptly capture and remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses in the City, promote production and business activities.
The conference will assess situation and results of the settlement to remove difficulties for enterprises in 2016; orientation to improve the investment environment, business and undertakings of Hanoi in the near future. Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises has synthesis report on difficulties and problems of enterprises. The enterprises mentioned difficulties and problems, the State management agencies (the MPC, departments, branches, People's Committees of districts town) exchange and remove settlement.

The conference was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; Chairman of the Chamber of Industry and Trade of Vietnam (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc; MPC members, Heads of departments, People's Committees of districts, towns of Hanoi, leaders of VCCI, 400 delegates that are representatives of businesses and business associations.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung stressed that Hanoi wishes to listen to the comments reflecting the difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing investment activities, business in the City, the standard reflections and comments serving the operating direction, the service business of the city authorities in a practical and effective way. At the meeting, the Head of the City and VCCI will directly, frankly receive and respond the responsibility of the business proposals under their jurisdiction.

"Meetings and business dialogue" with the participation of the highest levels of leadership of the city and VCCI has affirmed the determination of the city on creating a favorable, open and transparent business environment; affirmed the companionship of the VCCI to Hanoi in the work of improving the business environment, enhancing competitiveness, support and business development.

To promptly capture and remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses in manufacturing and trading, the City held a meeting, a dialogue with the existing small and medium-sized enterprises that are facing difficulties in the City for the exchange of business managers, expressing opinions with City leaders, thereby removing difficulties for enterprises.

At the meeting, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has met some questions and concerns of businesses' representatives: Regarding process to consult enterprise departments, the Chairman said that the former process must undergo from 3-5 rounds, through reforms of 2 rounds.

Concerning problems of enterprises in the implementation of common procedures, the City officials have worked to advance to Hanoi authorized ratification, reduced time for evaluation and approval at the facility. "Now we just work with the Ministry of Health, in the near future we will continue to work with ministried so that up to 2017, the common procedures will be shortened", Chairman Chung said.

Related to start-up businesses to promote creativity, in the past 9 months, the City was exposed to creative entrepreneurs in the UK, Australia. Creative entrepreneurship center will be born first, with the first phase to support information access and businesses establishment (legal formalities and accounting); the second one is to enhance access to science and technology; the third one is connecting products that are commercialized and marketed.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said on the issue of verification, the City will answer in specifical writing for businesses. For planning retail system, basically there hasn't had rationality and science yet, leading to uneven focus, by planning has not kept up with assessment about the needs of the people.
