Residents are advised to move to safe locations and actively participate in storm preparedness, rather than relying solely on authorities, to prevent complacency and ensure effective storm management.

On September 7, prior to the landfall of super typhoon Yagi or Storm No. 3, Hanoi Chairman Tran Sy Thanh advised city residents to stay indoors to avoid risks and potential harm.

In previous directives and official communications, Chairman Tran Sy Thanh emphasized the importance of ensuring public safety and protecting assets. Special attention was given to safeguarding dikes, reservoirs, and vulnerable areas with high risk of safety breaches.

The city's leadership has instructed departments and local authorities to execute preventive and responsive measures against rain, storms, floods, and natural disasters with utmost urgency and effectiveness. The focus is on protecting lives, especially vulnerable groups such as children and those at higher risk, while minimizing damage to both personal and state property.

The Hanoi Party Committee has also stressed the need to enhance information dissemination and public awareness. It is crucial to inform all officials, workers, businesses, and residents about the severity of Storm No. 3.

Residents are urged to relocate to safe areas and not to leave storm preparedness to authorities alone, avoiding complacency and neglect in storm prevention efforts.
