The night food street with a series of cultural, art, and cuisine activities could be a good place for tourists and locals to experience.

Hanoi’s authorities on December 23 launched the Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa night food street and pedestrian area in Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh District.

The opening of the new food street ahead of the New Year festive period has been welcomed by locals as a new cultural-cuisine rendezvous in the city, which eventually contributes to the city’s socio-economic development.

Chairman of the Truc Bach Ward People’s Committee Nguyen Dan Huy called the Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa night food street a breakthrough solution for the locality to push for economic development, focusing on trade and services activities.

According to Huy, the authorities have renovated the two streets of Ngu Xa, Nguyen Khac Hieu, and the parks surrounding Truc Bach Lake to form a new night food street, without disturbing the routine of locals.

“The night food street with a series of cultural, art, and cuisine activities could be a pleasant experience for tourists and locals coming to the area to know about the culture, history, and cuisine here,” Huy said.

Echoing Huy’s view, Chairman of the Ba Dinh District People’s Committee Ta Nam Chien said the Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa night food street not only serves as a new cultural-cuisine space but also a platform to display specialties under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program and tourism products of Hanoi.

“Tourists in the night street food would have a chance to know the traditional bronze casting works of locals, enjoy the beautiful landscape surrounding the lake, and be immersed in cultural, art activities and traditional festivals during the upcoming Lunar New Year,” Chien said.

 Foreign tourists enjoy the night.

Chien expected the cuisine space to be another plus point to create an image of Hanoi being a safe, friendly, quality, and attractive destination, contributing to the tourism development of Ba Dinh District in particular, and Hanoi in general.

The Dao Ngoc – Ngu Xa night food street is open every day, but on the weekend (from 6 p.m. on Friday to midnight on Sunday), the area including the  Ngu Xa and Nguyen Khac Hieu streets will be closed to traffic.
