The project, which is being developed by a joint venture between BRG Group of Vietnam and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan, covers an area of nearly 272 hectares in the three communes of Hai Boi, Vinh Ngoc and Kim No in Dong Anh District. It lies to the north of the Nhat Tan Bridge, halfway between Noi Bai International Airport and downtown Hanoi. The project is divided into five construction phases.

Speaking at the Smart City Implementation Announcement Ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan said that the project, which includes the construction of a 108-story financial tower, is a large-scale undertaking that showcases new ideas and technologies, applies international standards, and fits into the overall modern and synchronized planning.

Hanoi's leadership expects the project to contribute to solving the city's major infrastructure problems, such as transportation, energy, education, healthcare, and the environment. It also aligns with the goals of developing Dong Anh into an urban district and future northern city.

The city's Vice Chairman suggested that the North Hanoi Smart City Development Investment Corporation continue coordinating with relevant parties to complete land clearance and handover procedures, construction permits and other related procedures.

Yukihito Honda, Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Corporation, said that this project is of great importance to Sumitomo and its strategic partner, BRG Group.

"With 2023 marking the 50th anniversary of Japan-Vietnam diplomatic relations, our joint venture aims to rapidly realize the dream of an internationally recognized city center for Hanoi."
