Under the program, Hanoi’s authority calls on the whole community to change some consumption habits for environmental protection, including reducing plastic bag usage; limiting the burning of straw and charcoal; increasing the use of recycled materials; as well as building up the models of green school, green traffic, among others.
Accordingly, the launch of the “Join hands for a green Hanoi” Program will start at 6am and last until 10pm on June 3 at Ly Thai To Monument in Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi.
The event will attract the participation of 100 environment ambassadors who come from “green” schools in the locality and some rural districts of Dong Anh, Dan Phuong, and Ba Vi to share their initiatives on environment protection and a green living lifestyle.
Alongside the event, an outdoor photo exhibition-themed environment will be on display in the area.
Within the framework of “Action Month for the Environment”, the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment will cooperate with relevant municipal authorities to organize a number of domestic and international seminars to disseminate and seek new solutions on natural resources and environment protection as well as to reduce pollution and respond to climate change.
Also on this occasion, Hanoi will organize some competitions among pupils, students, and households in search of environmental protection initiatives to improve the living quality of the people.
