Hanoi introduces OCOP products associated with southern culture

The event is an opportunity for OCOP units from Hanoi and other locations to exchange, connect in trade, promote brands and facilitate trade promotion for product distribution.

Hanoi is hosting an event to introduce OCOP (One Commune One Product) products associated with the culture of the southern provinces, which is underway  from November 3 to 7 at Hai Ba Trung Temple in the suburban district of Me Linh.

The event features 100 booths and over 2,000 OCOP products and safe and hygienic  items from 19 southern provinces and cities, including Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Dong Thap, Tien Giang, An Giang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau and Can Tho.

Hanoi is participating in the event with 60 booths and more than 1,000 OCOP products. According to the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hanoi has recognized 2,167 of the total 9,852 OCOP products nationwide (accounting for 22%). Among them, six have been awarded five stars, 12 candidates for five stars, 1,369 four stars, and 780 three stars.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on November 3, Ta Van Tuong, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that this event is an opportunity for OCOP units in Hanoi and provinces/cities nationwide to exchange, connect in trade, promote brands, and facilitate commercial promotion for product distribution.

"It is also an opportunity for consumers in the city to recognize, connect and purchase OCOP products," he added.

In addition, the event also showcases 56 photos of award-winning products from the Hanoi Craft Village Product Contest 2023. Visitors can explore the distinctive decorative spaces representing the southern provinces and Hanoi's craft villages, such as clay figurine sculptures, Quang Phu Cau incense sticks, Chuong Village conical hats, Bat Trang pottery, Me Linh roses, and colorful lantern-lit paths.
