During the year, the country created jobs for over 1,6 million people, accounting for 102.5% of the plan, thus contributing to reduce the unemployment rate of workers to 2.3%. By the end of 2016, the number of poor households dropped to about 8.58%, down by 1.3% - 1.5% compared to 2015.
Hanoi was one of the outstanding localities in well implementing the tasks of labour, invalids and social affairs, especially providing jobs for local labourers in 2016.
In the year, Hanoi created new jobs for about 151,800 people, reaching 101% of plan and effectively implemented an unemployment insurance policy. The city considered and addressed unemployment benefits for nearly 40,000 people.
