Hanoi hosts Vietnam-Japan ICT forum

A Vietnam-Japan information and communications technology (ICT) forum was held on January 15 in Hanoi gathering the participation of hundreds of delegates from both nations.
In a keynote address, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung said that Vietnam-Japan cooperative relations have been elevated to that of an equal and strategic partnership.
Since the formation of the partnership, cooperation has been enhanced at all levels of state government and links amongst business enterprises has been strengthened on a host of fronts. In addition, Hung said Vietnam-Japan joint venture projects have had widespread success.

The rapid development of new technological advancements has opened up huge opportunities for the business communities of both nations and the forum hoped to serve as a catalyst for opening new cooperative channels between the two sides in the coming time.

Hung said Vietnam has a particular interest in cooperating with Japan in the area of human resource education and training.
Japan has become Vietnam’s largest market in the field of software outsourcing and he emphasised the need to develop highly qualified human resources in the field.
At the conference, delegates shared experiences in the management and the application of IT and advanced technologies in the broadcasting and television sector.
The forum was organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
