"The Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital already runs a new operation theater. In the near future, the hospital's modern facilities should be added with new testing lines, more beds for patients, and more stem cell storage. Hanoi’s authority will help the hospital import the world's most advanced equipment," Chung pledged.
He went on to say that in order for the hospital to be on the right track of development, it is important to apply the right international models and standards. The hospital needs to hire foreign consultancy for this job.
The mayor suggested the hospital to take part in training specialized obstetric clinics, calling for additional funding for the hospital, asking the city’s Department of Health to consider integrating insurance policy of children under six years old with that of their parents in one card.
For his part, Director of the Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Nguyen Duy Anh stressed that the hospital in 2019 invested VND172 billion (US$7.4 million) to buy modern medical equipment systems, including 4D obstetrics and gynecology endoscopic surgery, diagnostic imaging system, stem cell engineering system, among others.
The hospital has proposed to build a new international standard surgeon building of 18-20 surgery rooms and 50 recovery beds at a cost of VND400 billion (US$17.2 million).
