Hanoi creates breakthroughs to lure Russian tourists
Hanoi`s tourism sector are trying best efforts to take full of potentials and advantages with the aims to attracting more tourists from the Russia, which has been considered as the key market of Vietnam in the coming years.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Do Dinh Hong urged Vietnam Tourism Association and Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to exploit strongly the Russian market in 2016.
Specially, tourism promotion seminar, held recently by the munipal tourism sector in Saint Petersburg, Russia drew 100 participants, and the event organised in Moscow was attended by 200 enterprises, according to Director Hong.
Notably, the Vice Mayor of Saint Petersburg city expected to coordinate with Hanoi authorities implementing the programme bring Russian visitors to Hanoi, he shared.
Director Do Dinh Hong said that this points out Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular is always an attractive destination for Russian enterprises and tourists.
With the advantage of having direct flights route to some Russian localities, Hanoi has committed to offering the cheapest price for Russian tourists compared with the provinces and other cities, as well as countries in the ASEAN region.
After arriving in Noi Bai international airport, Russian travelers could explore some famous sites such as the Old Quarter - Hoan Kiem Lake, the area around the West Lake, and the political centre in Ba Dinh district in combination with the ancient Thang Long Citadel and the Temple of Literature.
In addition, Hanoi's tourism industry also organises other tours for Russian tourists to come to Sa Pa, climb Fansipan (in Lao Cai province), or visit the battlefield of Dien Bien Phu.
Besides, the municipal tourism has provided tours from Hanoi to Highlands provinces and the capital to ASEAN nations, Hong added.
At the recent International Tourism Fair Hanoi 2016, Russia was chosen as the honour guest. The Russian Tourism Board has decided to set up Russia's tourism representative office at the Southeast Asia in Hanoi. They are big advantages for Vietnam as well as the capital of Hanoi to draw Russian tourists.
According to the leader of municipal traveling sector, Hanoi's destinations and tourism products have been highly appreciated by Russian tourism experts and businesses.
Number of Russian tourists to Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general is expected to reach a positive grow in the near future.
