The request was made by Dinh Tien Dung, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, to the Chinese ambassador to Vietnam, Xiong Bo, on April 11.

Party Secretary Dinh Tien Dung stated during the meeting that Hanoi would be interested in learning from Chinese specialists in the preservation of cultural and historical artifacts, particularly the restoration of unique national monuments that need protection.

He expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam for its keen attention, active support, and crucial role in promoting the friendly relationship and cooperation between Hanoi and Chinese localities, especially with the capital city of Beijing. On the occasion of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to China from October 30 to November 1 last year, the two cities signed a Memorandum of Understanding on taking bilateral cooperation to a new level.

Dung also hoped that Xiong Bo would serve as a link and continue to develop cooperation between Hanoi and other Chinese cities such as Beijing and Guangzhou (Guangdong Province).

He emphasized that the aforementioned recommendations for cooperation between the two cities of the two nations would significantly advance the effective implementation and the development of shared perceptions among the top leaders of both parties.
