Efforts are under way to ensure that the project is up and running next month.

Hanoi Mayor Tran Sy Thanh encouraged workers on August 6 to ensure the inauguration of the Hanoi Children's Hospital (Phase 1) project on the 70th anniversary of the capital's liberation day.

Chairman Thanh called for a strong commitment to the completion of the hospital project.

"Contractors need to review and re-establish the project schedule and, in special cases, adopt special approaches to ensure progress," said the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

Thanh also said it was important to improve the skills and capabilities of medical staff and ensure air quality, water supply, and sewage treatment while maintaining security and order.

He also urged related parties to seek social resources to improve workplace infrastructure and facilities that are favorable to the health of employees.

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha asked investors and contractors to obtain fire safety approvals for the project in August.

She also urged those involved to complete the project and officially open it on September 15.

Ha suggested that measures should be taken to ensure smooth traffic flow around the hospital area and to improve its connectivity with surrounding urban developments.

According to Dong Phuoc An, Director of the Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board, by August 20, the infrastructure and equipment will be installed, and the main building equipment will be delivered.

He promised that all work would be completed in August and the project would be operational in September.

Work on the Hanoi Children's Hospital project began in early 2023. It has a total investment of more than VND784 billion (US$31 million).

The hospital is located in Yen Nghia Ward, Ha Dong District, and covers nearly 68,000 m2. The hospital will initially have 200 inpatient beds in Phase I and eventually have 500 beds.
