The annual Hanoi Autumn Festival attracts local and international visitors to downtown Hanoi.
Themed "Hanoi Autumn - Historic Autumn", this cultural event taking place in Hoan Kiem Pedestrian Zone, is part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day.
According to Nguyen Anh Duong, Director of the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion, the festival aims to showcase Hanoi's beauty, cultural and historical values, and tourist attractions by highlighting its unique and fascinating features.
"Tourism in the capital is undergoing a significant transformation, serving as a vital link in regional and international connectivity. With the experience of the 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival in 2024, we hope that delegates and visitors will leave with lasting impressions of Hanoi as an attractive, safe, and friendly tourist destination," he said.
The event also aims to honor artisans from Hanoi's traditional handicraft villages. Booths will showcase typical handicrafts from Hanoi's villages, including Thiet Ung woodwork, Bat Trang pottery, Ha Thai lacquer, Van Phuc silk, Ngu Xa bronze casting, Son Dong handicrafts, Phu Vinh rattan and bamboo, Thuong Tin embroidery, Chuong hats, and Chau Khe jewelry, among others.
At the opening ceremony on September 20, the Hanoi Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front raised over VND213 million (US$8,700) to help the victims of Typhoon Yagi.
