Hanoi attaches high priority to relations with Laos

The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos is ready to coordinate and advise to ensure that the cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane becomes a model for local-level cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Hanoi always stands ready as a reliable friend and partner to the capitals and cities of other countries within the international community. It places a high priority on crucial diplomatic relations, particularly with Laos and its capital, Vientiane.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung underlined this view during a visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos today [March 12].

At the meeting, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Nguyen Ba Hung, highly appreciated the significance of the high-level delegation from Hanoi to Laos's working visit and the effective cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane in recent times.

According to Hung, Hanoi not only assists in specific and practical programs and projects but also promotes collaboration in investment, trade, and tourism to spur economic development.

Hung was impressed by the methods and content of cooperation Hanoi has been implementing with Vientiane. These include bilateral initiatives in promoting tourism and trade, as well as Hanoi's support for Vientiane in training and developing professionals,  upgrading the skills of craftsmen, and providing scholarships for students.

Hung hailed Hanoi's active implementation of the Party and State's direction and policies regarding special friendship and solidarity with Laos. He emphasized that the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos is ready to coordinate and advise to ensure that the cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane becomes a model of local-level collaboration between Vietnam and Laos, as affirmed by the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Dinh Tien Dung, and widely agreed upon by the Vientiane counterparts.

In a friendly conversation with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung shared information about the progress and results of building the Party and political system, as well as the socio-economic development of Hanoi from the beginning of the 2020-2025 term to date. He also discussed major strategies and projects to construct a cultured, modern, and developed capital.

Dung revealed that in foreign affairs, Hanoi is always ready to be a reliable friend and partner for capitals and cities in the international community. In particular, he said Hanoi attaches high priority to relations with Laos and its capital, Vientiane.

Regarding the swift update on implementing the Hanoi-Vientiane cooperation agreement for the 2022-2025 period, Dung acknowledged and highly appreciated the active contribution and support of the Vietnamese Embassy and missions in Laos. He expressed his hope for continued attention, coordination, and support from comrades to ensure the effectiveness and practicality of the cooperation projects between Hanoi and Vientiane, to make a positive contribution to the development of both sides and to deepen the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

On this occasion, Dung extended best wishes on behalf of the Hanoi Party Committee and the working delegation to Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung, the officials and staff of the Embassy, and all Vietnamese missions in Laos. He wished them good health and success in fulfilling the tasks entrusted to them by the Party, State, and the People.
