Ha Long – Hai Phong expressway officially opens to traffic
The Ha Long – Hai Phong expressway helps cut the distance between Hanoi and Ha Long from 180km to 130km and the Ha Long – Hai Phong route from 75km to 25km.

Total length of the whole route is 25.2km, comprised of two projects with a total investment of VND13,693 billion (US$557 million). The road linking Ha Long city with Bach Dang bridge cost VND7,277 billion (US$313 million).
The road project linking Ha Long city with Bach Dang bridge is invested with budget capital with the investment scale of building a new 19.8km highway.
Drivers will not have to pay toll fees as the project was funded by state budget, but they will have to pay a bridge fee as it was constructed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.

This is the first "made in Vietnam" bridge, which confirms Vietnam’s self-reliance, self-construction, technology mastering, the PM said.
The route is not only a mark of history, beginning to develop transport infrastructure in Quang Ninh but also a great significance in solving the difficult problem of transport infrastructure of the province, Chairman of the Quang Ninh People's Committee Nguyen Duc Long .
It is also an important push for Quang Ninh to keep calling for and mobilizing large investment resources to develop the province in a fast and sustainable way, Long stressed.
