Google and the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) have launched the Google Safety Center and the Safer Program with Google for Vietnamese users.
The center made its debut on the occasion of Cybersecurity Awareness month. Its website at https://safety.google/intl/vi/ informs users about ways to keep personal information private and safe. It also provides security tips to keep users safe not only on Google products but whenever they are online.
To help families better manage their children's online learning and entertainment, the center offers resources to teach kids about digital citizenship and safety, and tools to help build healthy habits when using digital devices.
The Safer with Google program is aimed at building a foundation of knowledge and raise awareness among Internet users. The content from the program will be useful for internet users of all ages in Vietnam.
“The Vietnamese government has identified information security as a focus during Industry 4.0. With the desire that all Vietnamese can access basic knowledge of information security and methods of ensuring information security, the NCSC will accompany Google to develop and perfect the content suitable for Vietnam,” Tran Quang Hung, director of the NCSC, told The Hanoi Times.
Tram Nguyen, Country Manager of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia at Google Asia Pacific said that Google has applied three principles to all products, including security by default, privacy by design, and role-based access control.
“We are committed to building a safer Internet environment for everyone. All valuable knowledge and resources in Vietnamese are methodically organized in groups of topics which can be easily accessed anywhere, increasing self-protection of knowledge in cyberspace," said Tram Nguyen.
