The dedicated bicycle lane is expected to be inaugurated on February 1, connecting Lang Station of Cat Linh - Ha Dong Metro Line and No.8 Station of the Nhon-Hanoi Metro Line.
The total investment of the project is VND65 billion (US$2.64 million).
There will be six public bicycle stations along the route, including two major stations of the Transportation University and Lang Station. It is estimated that around 100 bicycles and electric bikes will be available to meet the needs of passengers in Hanoi, especially students.
In addition to the path along the To Lich River, Hanoi also plans to designate the sidewalks around Hoa Binh Park and Hoang Minh Thao Street in Bac Tu Liem District as bicycle-only. The total length of the bike-only route is about 5.7km, with the Hoang Minh Thao Street section covering 4km.
From Hoang Minh Thao Street, the bicycle road network will be extended to connect with emerging routes such as Xuan Tao and Minh Tao streets in the district.
