The six-day event also features the 2023 Danang Business Networking and Export Promotion Conference, a workshop on expanding business opportunities with Canada under the CPTPP Agreement, and other activities to showcase and promote local and international products.
In his opening speech, Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Danang People's Committee, said that this year's international fair aims to promote friendly cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between countries within the East-West Economic Corridor and other countries in the region.
He added that Danang, as the terminus of the East-West Economic Corridor, has a special significance in expanding trade with Southeast Asian countries and the world. The tourism and service sector continues to be an important driver of the city's economic growth, with numerous notable activities, events and festivals.
"In addition, Danang focuses on supporting businesses, prioritizing the recovery of key economic sectors, and actively contributing to the city's overall economic growth," he said.
The EWEC Danang Fair has been held annually since 2007 to showcase the socio-economic development achievements and promote the trade, investment and tourism potential of provinces, cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions and localities of countries along the East-West Economic Corridor and the Mekong Sub-region.
