The Hanoi Times - EVN Telecom under the Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) said it would exploit the Intra-Asia (IA) submarine optical cable system in the first quarter of this year, allowing the company to provide telecommunication connections to transit centres in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, the US and European countries.

It is using an OPGW cable system on the 500kV, 220kV and 110kV high-tension electric grids, which makes EVN Telecom as the safest transmission network in the nation.
This year, EVN Telecom aims to upgrade its network quality and improve customer care services, striving for a revenue of 4 trillion VND from public telecommunications and raise the number of CDMA subscribers to 4.6 million.
