The workshop will kick start a project funded by Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP), which aims to enhance energy efficiency and conservation in the supporting and food processing industries.

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will hold an inception meeting for the project "Promotion of Energy Efficiency in Supporting and Food Processing Industries in Vietnam” on August 18, sponsored by the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP).

The primary goal of the project is to enhance energy efficiency and conservation in the supporting and food processing industries. This will be achieved by raising awareness among both public and private entities, facilitating private sector access to finance for energy efficiency investment, establishing connections between producers, financial institutions, and energy services companies (ESCO), piloting the assessment of energy efficiency and conservation standards in these sectors, and devising a roadmap for the establishment of the ESCO Association in Vietnam.

The upcoming workshop presents an opportunity for stakeholders to delve deeper into the project's details and objectives. It will serve as a platform for agencies, units, and organizations to discuss, exchange information, and foster collaborations in the field of energy efficiency for enterprises. This endeavor is in line with the Vietnamese Government's commitment made at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26).

The Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) is a multi-donor partnership formed by governmental and philanthropic partners and operates under the management of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to accelerate a sustainable energy transition in Southeast Asia, in line with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.

Among the countries in Southeast Asia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam play a  pivotal role as key collaborating countries in the ETP framework.
