With 80 booths and interactive display areas, local visitors can interact with the district's artisans as they demonstrate their craft, providing a unique opportunity to witness the creation of these exquisite pieces firsthand.

The event helps encourage sustainable practices in the ceramics sector while promoting eco-friendly production models for a circular economy.

Hoang Minh Lam, Director of the Hanoi Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consultancy, emphasized that the 2024 Connection Network is designed to revitalize production chains, stimulate local consumption, and support ceramic enterprises in their promotional efforts.

This program reflects Hanoi's unwavering commitment to empowering local businesses, helping them overcome challenges and thrive in a competitive landscape.

Truong Van Hoc, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lam District People's Committee, said that recent investments have revitalized traditional trades in the area, attracting some 600,000 visitors each year, including some 40,000 international tourists eager to experience the local culture.

Products from the villages of Bat Trang and Kim Lan, along with gilded handicrafts and leather goods from Kieu Ky, are now making their mark in provinces across the country.

The 2024 Connection Network is particularly relevant for Kim Lan, which is emerging as a new tourism hotspot, and showcases the talents of 60 businesses from Kim Lan, Bat Trang and Kieu Ky villages, he pointed out.

"Local authorities should enhance support services for craft village tourism, strengthen promotional activities that link tourism with traditional trades, and strengthen partnerships with travel companies to create attractive tours for visitors," the Vice Chairman urged.

Kim Lan, one of six officially designated traditional pottery villages in Gia Lam, is committed to environmental protection and brand development to ensure a sustainable future.

With its rich cultural and ecological potential, Gia Lam is strategically shifting its rural economic structure towards services and tourism, while gradually reducing its dependence on agriculture and effectively utilizing its unique heritage and natural attractions.
