The Hanoi Times - The Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) unit, the most important component of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery, was officially put into operation this week.

According to PetroVietnam, the unit plays an important role in the full-capacity operations of the refinery.

From 12.00 PM of June 24, it started operating at 70% of its capacity. Its first products included liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrol, light cycle oil (LCO) and diluted crude oil (DCO).

The unit’s average capacity is now 90 cubic meters of LPG and 270 cubic meters of petrol per hour.

Apart from the RFCC unit, the crude distillation unit (CDU) is also operating with 70% of its capacity.

Petrol-making units of UOP have just completed their hot circulation and can start operation today.

Since late June, the refinery will provide its commercial products to the market, including LPG (10,000 m3); unleaded petrol A92 (10,000 m3); Kerosene/Jet A1 (5,000 m3); and diesel oil (DO) (25,000 m3).

In the first half of June, the plant has imported the 4th batch of crude oil (80,000 tons). It plans to receive six batches more (480,000 tons in total) next month to serve the trial run.
