The three-day 4S-2014 and AVIC2014 conferences are being organised by the National University in HCM City's Integrated Circuit Design Research & Education Centre (ICDREC) in coordination with the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

"Orientation for Development of Viet Nam's IC Industry" and "Research and Education in IC Sector" are the two major topics on the agenda at this year's 4S-2014/AVIC14 conference.

There will also be discussions about IC designing, devices and IC technology, IC systems, and IC application.

Besides, Japanese delegates will table their research works on IC packaging in Japan.

According to ICDREC, the 4S/AVIC conferences are held bi-annually to create opportunities for scientists, researchers, and students to compare notes with experts from all over the world.

This year's conference has called on universities and businesses around the country to create an ecosystem for the development of semi-conductor-related technologies and for using of IC industry in the country's industrialisation and mordernisation.

The conferences are being attended by 250 officials and experts from Viet Nam's Ministry of Science and Technology, the HCM City People's Committee and its departments and agencies, and industry.

Also in attendance are over 50 leading professors specialising in IC design and manufacture from Japan, the US, Switzerland, South Korea, and other countries.
