Con Dao named fourth in top 10 Asian best spots for 2016
Con Dao Island, an archipelago in the southern province of Ba Ria –Vung Tau, has been chosen in the top 10 best places to travel in Asia list of 2016 by Lonely Planet Magazine, the world’s largest travel guide book publisher.
Con Dao, an archipelago located about 230 kilometers away from HCM City has recently been ranked fourth in the top 10 best places to travel in Asia list of 2016 by Lonely Planet Magazine.
As an archipelago in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, and also a district of this province that is famous for the heroic feat of arms of the nation and served as a prison island for political prisoners during the French colonial era, Con Dao has now become an international tourism destination, thanks to its primitive beauty, fresh food and plentiful fauna and floral ecosystem.
In addition, pure water, silky sand banks and blue skies are good reasons for tourists to visit Con Dao.
The Con Dao Island includes 16 islands and islets with a total area of 75.15 square kilometres and a sea area of around 14,000sq.km.
By 2020, the province targets attracting more than 180,000 tourist arrivals and earning total revenues, at current prices, of 1.2 trillion VND.
With improved flight connections from HCM City, Con Dao has become an ideal place to feast on fresh seafood, explore a perfect beach, and revel in a castaway vibe, the site wrote.
