Leader of Traffic Police Team No. 2 of Hanoi Police told The Hanoi Times on the afternoon of April 5, an accident had taken place at the intersection of Xuan La - Vo Chi Cong at approximately 4:25 PM. The incident caused 18 injuries due to the consecutive collisions.

According to preliminary information, Mr. H.N.V., born in 1960 and currently residing in Long Bien, Hanoi, was driving his vehicle along Vo Chi Cong Street (the section passing through Xuan La Ward, Tay Ho District) when he collided with 17 motorbikes that were waiting at a red light in a row.
Upon arriving at the site of the accident, numerous motorbikes were found scattered, and several injured victims were lying on the road. People quickly transported the injured individuals to hospitals, and at least six ambulances were present at the scene.
According to the leader of Traffic Police Team No. 12, "the driver was in a state of panic and admitted to taking his wife to the heart hospital for a check-up. Following a quick test on the driver, no alcohol or stimulants were detected. We have taken him to the Xuan La Ward police station for further investigation and clarification. Fortunately, there were no fatalities resulting from the incident."
