BRT system has been well-done in implementing its mission
After a month of free operation, BRT route of Kim Ma - Yen Nghia bus terminals has been well-done in implementing its mission with large amount of passengers in the Capital who are still supporting for BRT.
Up to now, there are still some mixed opinions about the effectiveness of the BRT, its impact on the network to the general urban traffic. However, with the real figure, with the unremitting efforts of both functional and sectoral level officials and public employees of Hanoi Transportation Corporation (Transerco), with the enthustic support of the majority of the people, passengers, BRT system has proven the superiority in the 2nd "revolution" for Hanoi's bus.
Talking to reporter on a BRT from Yen Nghia to Kim Ma, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien (Ha Dong) said: "Since BRT has been put into operation, I do not use my motobike, the bus's fee is not higher than traditional bus while the quality of service and the travelling time is an obvious advantage, so I will always support BRT".
The Director of Centre for Hanoi Management & Executive Urban Transport Nguyen Hoang Hai said that with about 12,000 unique visitors/day and continuing to rise, BRT 01 is replaced in the presence of at least 6,000 personal vehicles on circulation on one of the roads with the highest traffic density of Hanoi (To Huu - Le Van Luong - Lang Ha - Giang Vo). "That's the most plausible answer to the doubts about the effectiveness of BRT," said Mr. Hai.
"BRT system is the start of the second 'revolution' for the Capital's buses. I think travelling by BRT is not just the optimal choice to move but also a selection to show civilized culture of Hanoi," President of Hanoi Association of public passenger transport Nguyen Trong Thong commented.
