Boosting Vietnam - Russia cooperation in developing nuclear power infrastructure
A seminar to discuss Vietnam-Russia cooperation in nuclear power infrastructure development is being organised in Hanoi from June 23-25.

At the seminar, Head of Department of Atomic Energy under the Ministry of Science and Technology Hoang Anh Tuan introduced the development context of nuclear power infrastructure in Vietnam.
Head of Department of Atomic Energy Hoang Anh Tuan said that Vietnam is in phase II of developing its nuclear power infrastructure, according to assessments of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
IAEA also released 42 recommendations for Vietnam, of which the country has satisfied six requirements.
Attending the seminar, Head of the Russian delegation Sokolov Yury from Russia’s Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation hoped to study the demand for nuclear power development in Vietnam and committed to supporting the country in this field.
On June 23, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Viet Thanh received the Russian delegation, during which he affirmed that Vietnam is actively working with Russia in training human resources for nuclear power development. He also pledged that his ministry would pay special attention to strengthening Vietnam - Russia cooperation in the field.
