A book exhibition on Vietnam's seas and islands that opened in the southern city of Nha Trang this week has attracted hundreds of visitors.

More than 80 books on display address various critical topics, focusing on the potentials and strengths of Vietnam's seas and islands; the process for establishing, administering and protecting the sovereignty of Vietnam's seas and islands; the positions of the Government and the Communist Party on the protection of Vietnam's sovereignty over the national waters and strategies for the sustainable development of the Vietnamese marine economy.

Jointly held by the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House and Nha Trang University, the event is expected to help everyone learn more about the country’s sovereignty over Vietnam's seas and islands.

The exhibition will help visitors fully understand the Vietnamese government's stances on the country's territorial waters and provide them with the fundamentals to fight baseless arguments that distort truths about national sovereignty.

The exhibition is among many activities celebrating Vietnam’s Sea and Islands Week [June 1 to 8], World Oceans Day [June 8], and the 70th anniversary of the book publishing-printing and distributing sector.

The exhibition also aims at increasing the awareness of the public, particularly students and the staff of Nha Trang University, about the important role of Vietnam’s seas and islands, while disseminating the viewpoints of the Government and the  Party on this matter via current policies and legal documents.

At the opening ceremony, the Su That National Political Publishing House presented more than 100 book titles to Nha Trang University.
