The center has been doing research in agricultural, animal nutrition, and life sciences since 1995 in order to provide high-quality, cutting-edge science to assist Vietnamese farmers in addressing their challenges.

Austria-based BIOMIN Research Centre (BRC) is willing to partner with Vietnam in developing sustainable biotechnology, said Franz Waxenecker, director of Development and Innovation at BIOMIN, during a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan’s in Vienna.

The visit was within the program of a high-ranking Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) delegation led by NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attending the fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament (WCSP5) in Austria.

Franz Waxenecker said that Vietnamese farmers, like those around the world, are facing growing challenges in livestock farming, including finding measures to improve livestock health and productivity through natural and environmentally friendly products, as well as reducing the reliance on antibiotics.

Waxenecker added BIOMIN has been doing research in agricultural, animal nutrition, and life sciences since 1995 in order to provide high-quality, cutting-edge science to assist farmers in addressing their challenges.

The company has also oriented an advanced scientific approach to creating suitable products and models for the aquaculture industry to develop in the direction of ensuring the health and without changing the ecosystem.

Since 1995, BIOMIN has invested more than US$30 million in agricultural research and production facilities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong, he noted.

For his part, Minister Le Minh Hoan expected Vietnam to quickly shift to agricultural production with high knowledge and scientific content, especially in the field of biological sciences, in order to solve climate change issues and minimize negative impacts on ecosystems.

BIOMIN has taken a forward-thinking scientific approach to develop appropriate goods and models for the aquaculture sector in order to ensure health without compromising the ecological system, Hoan noted, adding this is a valuable experience for Vietnam to promote innovation in the science and technology system.

The minister expected BIOMIN, as a world leader in animal health and nutrition solutions, will provide Vietnam's farm businesses with services to improve livestock productivity and health by natural methods and ensure economic efficiency.
