APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Meeting plays very significant role

Under the theme “Creating new dynamism, fostering a shared future,” the meeting will feature retreats, a ceremony to hand over the APEC Chairmanship to Papua New Guinea and an international press conference.
The same day, there will be a programme in Hoi An city, the central province of Quang Nam, for spouses of the delegation heads to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, aiming to promote Vietnamese culture to international friends.
The APEC leaders are set to discuss important issues to create new dynamism for sustainable development and regional connectivity, thus fostering a shared future of peace, stability, development and prosperity in Asia-Pacific.
To materialise the target, Vietnam has proposed four priorities, namely promoting sustainable, innovative and inclusive growth; deepening regional economic integration; strengthening micro, small and medium enterprises’ competitiveness and innovation in the digital age; and enhancing food security and sustainable agriculture in response to climate change.
