Under the witness of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, a memorandum of understanding was signed on June 5 in Tokyo (Japan) with the aim of building the most modern smart city in Southeast Asia, North of Hanoi (the two sides of Vo Nguyen Giap Street), belonging to the planning project of Nhat Tan - Noi Bai.

Earlier, the BRG Group signed with the Sumitomo Corporation, one of the three largest enterprises of Japan, to develop the project in April. The BRG also chose P&T Consultants to provide consultancy for the project. Total construction area of the project is 2,080 hectares along both sides of the Vo Nguyen Giap road, including four main sections with a length of 11.7km.

The detailed planning of three sections with total length of some 11.1km was approved in early 2016.

The combination of two BRG and Sumitomo corporations, resonated by the backing of Hanoi City with commitments to support the investment and development of the project, are certainly positive factors. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has realized the desire to raise urban development in line with the overall policy of the Government of Vietnam, while strengthening the good relations between Vietnam and Japan, in accordance with the whole orientation of cooperation
