In the fourth Lunar month, following the spirit of Buddha’s Day, the program of Ancient Music Story by Dong Kinh Co Nhac (the Ancient Music Group of Tonkin) on Saturday, May 25 will introduce the musical features of the ancient Vietnamese spiritual life, with the poems of Zen period Ly – Tran being translated and dubbed the traditional music, the Buddhist fairy tale performances of traditional theater (Tuong – Cheo), and the rhythms of the Vietnamese folk music (Hat Cua Dinh – Hat chau van) along with traditional songs of many generations of Vietnamese folk music.
In a small and cozy space where  the beautiful voices of the artists from the Ancient Music Group of Tonkin shine without electronic amplifiers, we hope that the flow of the ancient sound will bring audience on a journey back to thousand years ago, and help them feel and understand the traditional music culture of Vietnam.

As chosen participants of the Reciprocal Artist Residency with Objectifs x Matca 2019, two artists Lac Hoang (Vietnam) and Kian Wee (Singapore) have spent 4 weeks in the neighboring country making new work.
While Lac Hoang focuses on foreign  workers and their relationship with public spaces in Singapore, Kian Wee is fascinated by the mysterious Hoan Kiem Turtle as a specific example of myth-making mechanisms in modern society. In this sharing session, they will showcase their work in progress and discuss insights about the residency program.

The Performing Arts Spring (PAS) Festival 2019 will be held in Hanoi this weekend to create a forum for multicultural art exchanges between art performers in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian nations.
The festival will feature drama, dance, and music performances. A majority of the planned performances are in French, with subtitles in Vietnamese and English. Artists of different age groups, from children to teenagers and adults, will join these performances.
P.A.S festival 2019 aims to create a forum for multicultural art exchange between different art performers based in Vietnam and South East Asia.
PAS festival has been initiated and co-organized for the first time in 2015 by Quentin Delorme, Marianne Seguin, Anne Boulo, professor of French School of Hanoi and director of the Theater Company “Les Phap’bulateurs”, Céline Mariage French language assistant of Wallonie-Bruxelles International, University of Hanoi and Yanis Loggia, professor of the French School Alexandre Yersin.

Manzi Art Space will present A Starry Night - a drum concert by Hanoi percussionist Tran Xuan Hoa (aka sound hunter). Using hang drum/handpan - one of the most interesting instruments of the 21st century, Hoa will perform his latest creations which were created during his trips to the northern mountainous area of Vietnam.
A Starry Night aims to take the audience to a place where legends can only be told by music and sounds.
