Ngo Minh 13:41, 2024/06/23
The concert will feature soprano Katherine Jenkins, tenor Giuseppe Gipali and soprano Meni Ardita.

The concert The First Sounds of Love, which brings together symphony orchestras from the North and South and features many stars of world classical music, will be held on July 10, the first anniversary of the Ho Guom Opera in Hanoi.

The concert will feature artists Katherine Jenkins, Giuseppe Gipali, Meni Ardita, People's Artist Bui Cong Duy together with the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra and Saigon Pops Orchestra, Green Wind Choir under the direction of conductor Tran Nhat Minh. This will be the first time two symphony orchestras from the North and the South will perform on the same stage at the Ho Guom Opera.

One of the most anticipated performances on the program is that of Welsh classical superstar Katherine Jenkins, born in 1980. She is considered the world's most successful classical singer, having been named "best-selling classical artist of the century" by Classic FM. She has worked with famous artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras, David Foster, Il Divo, Kylie Minogue, Michael Bolton...

Katherine Jenkins is a famous soprano, the representative face of Wales in the year 2000. For two consecutive years, Katherine Jenkins' musical products have been awarded Album of the Year at the Classic Brit Awards.

The concert will kick off a series of high-profile arts programs, including the Mozart Concert on 23 and 24 August, featuring performances by Les Musiciens du Louvre Orchestra and singer Sofia. This is an orchestra that specializes exclusively in performing Mozart's music.

The orchestra was founded in 1982 and has been nominated as one of the best orchestras in the world. Vietnamese audiences will, therefore, be able to enjoy the pinnacle of music.

In particular, after the famous Four Seasons concert at the Ho Guom Opera last April, the Royal Theater Symphony Orchestra of Versaille (France) will return to perform on 11 and September 12.

In addition to international programs, there will also be many special Vietnamese arts programs, such as the classic opera Carmen on July 16 and the musical La Traviata on August 9 and 10.

In particular, the theme concert night Marching on the Capital to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital (October 10, 1954-2024) will be held in the fall.

Ho Guom Opera (40-40A Hang Bai Street, Hoan Kiem District) was built with the aim of becoming a modern cultural and artistic space. It quickly made it into the top 10 opera houses in the world as voted by the World Travel Awards (WTA).

After one year of operation, the opera has presented about fifty high-profile artistic events, featuring world-class orchestras and artists as well as prominent Vietnamese artists. It aims to become a hub for the performing arts both at home and abroad.

The director of the Ho Guom Opera, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, says the theater has hosted many famous performers and received great reviews from audiences.

"Ho Guom Opera has reaffirmed its role and mission in promoting Vietnamese music and arts to the public at home and abroad, while bringing the quintessence of world music to the Vietnamese people, actively contributing to the development of Vietnam's cultural industry," said Bay.
