Director of the Russian Culture Centre in Hanoi, Alexy Lavrenniew, presented the insignia “For the cause of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation” to President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), Vu Xuan Hong in Hanoi on May 19.

Addressing the conferment ceremony, Alexy Lavrenniew emphasized that the Federal Agency for Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs’ award aims to recognize Hong’s active contribution in promoting relations between Vietnam and Russia.

The ceremony coincided with an event to mark 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian Culture Centre in Hanoi.

For his part, Hong expressed his great honour in receiving the noble award and shared memories and fine sentiments of Russian people and its land during his term of office.

He affirmed that he will continue to make further contribution to developing links between the two nations.
