VN’s exports to India up 32.4%

Viet Nam’s export to India in 2013 reached US$2.35 billion, up 32.4% compared to 2012`s figure.
Viet Nam's major export lines were phones and accessories (US$926 million), machines, equipment and spare parts (US$242 million), computers, electronics and accessories (US$231 million) and chemicals (US$61 million).

Its import turnover was nearly US$2.9 billion, up 33.5%.

Animal feed and raw materials ranked first among import items with US$338 million, followed by corns (US$304 million), medicines (US$248 million), machines, equipment, tools and spare parts (US$194 million) and cotton (US$188.5 million).

Two-way trade between the two countries grew sustainably 16.2% per year, from US$2.05 billion in 2009 to US$5.24 billion in 2013.

As of November 2013, India has involved in 76 projects in Viet Nam with a total registered capital of US$254 million, ranking 30th among 101 countries and territories investing in the country.
