"Vietnam's New Year" - a highlight of activities welcoming the Party

Hanoi Department of Culture and Sport introduced the city`s numerous activities to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays on January 27. The highlight is the programme "Vietnam`s New Year" which will take place from January 29 to February 3 at the Hanoi Museum.
With the scale of morer than 200 stores", the "Vietnam's New Year" programme will be arranged into several key areas for traditional craft villages in Hanoi, traditional craft businesses, Hanoi tourism, trees for Tet and folk games.

The programme is divided into 3 stages including the main stage, traditional folk and modern stage.
Besides, some other activities on the sidelines will be organised during the event such as talks, introduction and guide to prepare a traditional Tet feast.
The film screenings to welcome the Party and Spring is being held in Kim Dong Cultural Center from January 28 to February 3.
To create a joyful atmosphere for the entire local residents welcoming the upcoming Tet festival, the city will organise 2016 Spring Newspaper festival from January 29-30 at the Vietnam-Russian Friendship Culture Palace.
Particularly, to welcome the success of 12th National Party Congress, a photo exhibition with the theme "Welcome the Party - Celebrate the Tet holidays" will be organised from February 1-15 at the Exhibition House at No 93 Dinh Tien Hoang street.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Truong Minh Tien said the fireworks will light up the capital city’s sky on the Lunar New Year’s Eve (February 7) at 30 display venues.
Local spectators can witness high altitude fireworks from 6 venues, including Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Nguyen Hoang Ton flower garden (Tay Ho district), Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong district), My Dinh National Statium(Nam Tu Liem district), Son Tay ancient town (Son Tay town) and other low altitude fireworks shows from other venues, he added.
According to Deputy Director Tien, the cultural performances and sport programmes to welcome Tet holidays will also take place from February 11-13 at 30 districts and towns across the city of Hanoi.
