“Happy Vietnam” photo exhibition opens in Thailand

A captivating exhibition of 180 stunning images of Vietnam is currently on display in Bangkok, Thailand to help audiences discover the beauty and vibrancy of Vietnam and its people.

The “Happy Vietnam” photo exhibition, organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand in cooperation with the Ministry of Information and Communication, is open to the public until December 27.

 The photo entitled "The Sweet Happiness" by Vu Dieu Hoa, winner of the first prize of the "Happy Vietnam 2024" photo and video contest.

The exhibition showcases a selection of the best photographs from over 10,300 entries submitted to the "Happy Vietnam 2024" photo and video contest, capturing the essence of the country's culture, landscapes and people.

Pham Viet Hung, Ambassador of Vietnam to Thailand, expressed his hope that the exhibition will encourage visitors to gain a deeper appreciation of Vietnam's rich traditions, warm hospitality and dynamic development. He also invited them to visit the country and experience its vibrant culture firsthand.

Steejit Taipiboonsuk, Deputy Secretary General of the Thai National Assembly, shared her admiration for the exhibition, noting the humanistic and uplifting nature of the photographs. She highlighted how they depict a modern, thriving Vietnam where citizens embrace happiness, respect others, and contribute to the collective progress of society.

According to Pham Anh Tuan, Director General of the Department of External Communication Service under the Ministry of Information and Communication, the photos are the best entries selected for the 2024 "Happy Vietnam" Photo and Video Contest from over 10,300 entries submitted by nearly 7,000 participants, including 600 international and 270 overseas Vietnamese.

Earlier, in March 2024, the "Happy Vietnam 2024" photo contest was launched to showcase the country's peace, stability, beautiful landscapes and vibrant people, as well as its dynamic economy and growing status as a happy nation.

In its second edition, the gold medal of the 2024 competition went to Vu Dieu Hoa for her photo entitled "The Sweet Happiness". One of the two silver medals was awarded to Duong Van Giang for his photo of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte cycling in Hanoi. Meanwhile, Dinh Bao Chau received one of three bronze medals for his photo entitled "The Kid."
